Things are looking positive for June! UK Athletics have issued a preliminary license that allows us to continue our planning. Things will, inevitably, be different this year. We won’t have anything indoors. Registration, number collection, baggage etc will all be outside. There won’t be any changing rooms, so please come dressed to run. The start may be staggered, depending on the rules in place at the time, with the fastest runners going out first. Water will have to be in bottles (something we’ve been trying to get away from…); if possible, bring your own water.
The threat of potential postponement or cancellation is always with us and so we won’t be ordering T-shirts and medals – the risk is too great to us as a charity. Instead, we’ll work with local businesses and create something for all the runners – details to follow.
At the moment all the entries from last year have been rolled over. If we can open up for new entries, we will, but not until about 4 weeks before the race, when the state of the nation/world may be a little clearer. As ever, if you have questions, please contact us.
Hi everyone. A quick update to say that we intend to press ahead with the Alresford 10k next year. We’re obviously not sure about the Hampshire Road Race League status, but the race will definitely happen and we’ll take whatever Covid safe precautions we need to at the time.
All of this year’s entries (for the 2020 race) have been rolled over to next year. I’m talking to Active Training World about how we’ll cope with swaps, transfers and refunds and I’ll post here once we have a plan in place.
Keep on running! It feels like it’s been too long since we’ve been racing.
Stay safe and stay healthy!
We’re getting into gear. Here’s a website with more info: http://alresfordrotary10k.co.uk
We’re planning on a virtual run for people from the SO24 and GU34 postcode areas. Check back here for more details over the coming days…. We’ve put the route on the Route page (on the menu) and some rules. Entry details coming soon.
Hello everyone. At the HRRL committee meeting last night (held over the internet of course) it was decided to suspend the League for this season. This year’s race will therefore be postponed to Sunday June 20th 2021. All entries from this year will be rolled over. We’ll work out how to do transfers etc as we get closer to the time.
Hi everyone. Just over 400 entries so far. Many thanks to those that have already signed up. We’re trying to think of innovative and eco-friendly things for the run. We’ll be using compostable cups at the water point again this year and Butlers Accountants will be providing reusable water bottles at Arlebury Park. I’m investigating an eco medal option and will publish details if the idea works out. Needless to say we’re monitoring the COVID-19 developments and will post updates here if need be.
Apparently they can set it up automatically if we go for midnight. Here’s the link. Do let me know if there are any problems.
With Netley and the Alton 10 entries both opening this month, I’ve decided to push back opening the entries until early February so all of you keen club runners don’t have to dig deep and fund 3 entries in a single month…
Hi everyone. I’ve had a few people ask about this year’s race and when entries will be open. The race will be on Sunday 21 June (Fathers’ Day again) starting at 10 o’clock. It is another Hampshire Road Race League event this year. Entries will open towards the end of January. Thanks.
Huge thanks to everyone that came and ran this morning and to all the volunteers that helped out and made it possible. The results are up on the EventChipTiming website. As ever, the technology wasn’t perfect, so if you spot anything do let us know using the Contact Us email and we’ll do what we can to sort it out.
